After a long break devoted to acoustic jazz, Gaël Horellou returns to fusion with an album oscillating between atmospheric jazz and electro-instrumental experimentation.

Synthesis is positioned in the continuity of the album Explorations : a hovering and radically modern sound, at the service of a music knowing how to remain faithful to jazz and to the aesthetic and spiritual commitment of the elders (John and Alice Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, Yusef Lateef...).

The machines are used to create a multidimensional setting in which the musicians evolve, without denying the fundamentals of jazz: playing, rhythm, harmony and improvisation.

Beyond jazz, the influences present in Synthesis are very diverse, ranging from the music contemporary (Terry Riley, Steve Reich...) to dub electro (Bill Laswell, Mad Professor...).
